The PLC Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing complex automated machinery. This role involves utilizing PC with automation software for backups, program updates, and troubleshooting. The technician will be an engaged and motivated member of a small technical team critical to bakery operations, performing preventative maintenance activities and work orders to maximize plant equipment performance. They will also be responsible for improving and modifying preventative maintenance activities as appropriate. The role requires adherence to food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding and supporting company safety policies. The technician must recognize unsafe working conditions, coach peers, and suggest new safety standards. They will also coach other team members on core electrical skills, machine functionality, defect identification, and equipment repair, using drawings, prints, and instruction manuals for maintenance tasks. Safe working practices including LOTO, proper PPE usage, and procedure development are essential. The employee must be able to perform various physical activities including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, crawling, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
