To ensure that students are provided intensive, targeted literacy instruction based on student need, prioritizing students in Grades 2-3. The job of the interventionist will include delivering prescriptive, explicit, systematic, multi-sensory language instruction to students requiring dyslexia-specific intervention, collaborating with classroom teachers and specialists, and administering diagnostic assessments. The interventionist will also participate in the Problem-Solving Team (PST) and assist in developing Student Reading Improvement Plans (SRIP). Additionally, the role involves supporting K-3 teachers in utilizing intervention programs and dyslexia awareness training, and potentially serving as a teacher for summer reading camp.
