About The Position

To provide school-level mentoring, training, content area support, and professional development to teachers in order to strengthen the instructional program at the building level.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor's degree
  • Valid teacher license with appropriate grade level core curriculum endorsement
  • Minimum three years teaching experience relative to the specific responsibilities of the position
  • Meets health and physical requirements
  • Possession of mature professional judgment, growth mindset, positive attitude, and focus on student learning
  • Possession of attributes and qualities of leadership with ability to organize and mentor teachers and professional learning community (PLC) teams

Responsibilities

  • Participates in data review and monitors instructional needs based on data analysis, to include implementation of the state and local curriculum.
  • Acts as an instructional leader, capable of providing informed analysis and advice about curriculum and instruction based on research and the analysis of assessment data.
  • Provides mentoring support, lesson modeling, feedback, and professional development for teachers.
  • Coordinates the school-level teacher mentoring program.
  • Applies the instructional coaching cycle to provide support to classroom teachers.
  • Provides support to classroom teachers to make data actionable in the classroom.
  • Facilitates professional learning community (PLC) processes in the assigned school and conducts fidelity monitoring of PLC process implementation.
  • Models teacher leadership and supports the principal in the development of teacher leadership.
  • Assist in curriculum development and the implementation of state standards.
  • Organizes and implements staff development opportunities by proposing, planning, and conducting inservice activities based on teacher and school need.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the principal (in coordination with the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction).
