Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking an experienced and motivated Instructional Developer professional to join our team in Lansing, Michigan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, educational technology or related field of study; or several years’ related experience or training
  • Strong levels of organization, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and teams.
  • Ability to oversee and facilitate the completion of multiple projects at the same time.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate, in both oral and written formats, in a polite, clear, concise, and accurate way.
  • Well versed in proper spelling and grammar.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in eLearning development, graphic design, video production preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assemble provided content into online learning using a variety of eLearning, prototyping, graphics software, and related technology.
  • Collaborate with internal business users, IT, and subject matter experts to accurately develop visual design concepts including graphics and screen mock-ups.
  • Using provided content, create storylines and storyboards for use in video creation.
  • Record audio for videos using approved scripts.
  • Assist in creating requested knowledge checkpoints to assess course learning effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot issues in learning management system.
  • Proofread and edit scripts.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, other Instructional Developers, and Instructional Designers to ensure content created is accurate and satisfies the goals of the project.
  • Apply current usability and user-centered design best practices when creating eLearning and similar materials to develop relevant and applicable training.
  • Maintain punctual attendance according to an assigned work schedule at a Company approved work location.
