About The Position

As a Senior Instructional Designer, you will contribute to training development and facilitation as a member of our Broker Insurance Solutions Development team. The team supports the creation, implementation, and development of Desjardins Insurance’s brokerage arm for commercial insurance. Our goal is to better support our business members and clients, by offering enhanced coverage for businesses. You will play a key role in the change integration of projects and initiatives that help us achieve our ambition to become the 5th largest commercial property and casualty insurer in Canada by 2030! You make learning accessible to teams and stakeholders, enabling competency development with the creation of learning solutions that satisfy training gaps, modernize current material, and simplify content in a way that learners can easily engage with and understand. In addition to supporting various sponsors and managers, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams that will implement change initiatives. Interpersonal savvy, communication, and the ability to balance the interests of multiple parties are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec
  • Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
  • Advanced knowledge of instructional design and adult learning practices
  • Action oriented, Business insight, Collaborates, Communicates effectively, Customer Focus, Differences, Interpersonal Savvy, Nimble learning

Responsibilities

  • Complete training needs analysis for various teams and design appropriate pedagogical strategies and develop training plans
  • Create material to support stakeholders in their learning process
  • Coordinate a design and facilitation project
  • Facilitate pilot and training sessions
  • Respond to questions and provide post-training support to learners
  • Assess learners progress and skills development
  • Conduct annual maintenance on existing courses based on learner feedback or changes to organizational guidelines or process
  • Use effective techniques in training documents
