About The Position

The Instructional Designer develops and designs training programs, courses, or other instructional materials or educational tools for Chadwell Supply employees and teams. Higher levels may include more advanced duties such as coaching, leading discovery conversations, and solving complex issues.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous experience in education, training, graphic design, instructional design or coaching.
  • Experience with developing multiple modules.
  • 2 or more years of e-Learning Instruction Design and Development.
  • Experience in graphic design, coding, multimedia, or video editing.
  • Experience with VILTs and/or in-person training.
  • Advanced verbal and written English language skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Technologically savvy enough to leverage the educational and training programs with the benefits of technology.
  • Able to work with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks.
  • Performs work under minimal supervision.
  • Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Ability to use voiceover software and incorporate it into training modules.
  • Advanced Knowledge of Instructional Design Principles.
  • Able to build and deliver highly interactive learning with Articulate Storyline.

Nice To Haves

  • a certificate or a bachelor’s degree in education, Instructional Design or a similar field of study is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design learning solutions targeted at employees and teams within Chadwell Supply.
  • Analyze learner needs and performance gaps to determine content creation and learning objective needs.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure that content is accurate, thorough, and aligned with KPIs whenever possible.
  • Utilize multiple formats, including print, audio, visual, and multimedia, and select the appropriate format for the target audience or content.
  • Develop courses, curriculums, and update content as necessary to meet learning outcomes.
  • Develop formative and summative assessments.
  • Communicate course/ curriculum status to stakeholders in a timely fashion.
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to conduct quality control.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with Chadwell Supply employees.
  • Evaluate the results of training programs and modify future programs to better meet training goals.
  • Assist with QA process for peer content creation.
  • Apply Instructional Design principles to all programs.
  • Consistently apply Instructional Design principles to all learning programs.
  • Troubleshoot learner course issues.
  • Assist with ensuring all course content is up to date and accurate.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for, knowledge of, and agility with new learning technologies in a fastpaced, ever-changing environment.
  • Consistently develop clear, easy-to-follow, engaging course content, written at a 6th to 8th grade reading level (ensuring accessibility for broad audiences).
  • Apply adult learning principles within content creation.
  • Utilize the Tell-Show-Do model, drawing on relevant examples in content creation.
  • Create and improve online and blended learning experiences, courses and overall programs.
  • Conduct thorough initial consultations with internal customers to identify performance gaps, clarify learning objectives, and assess whether training is the appropriate solution.
