About The Position

The Instructional Designer, Senior will develop training that will transform national security. This role involves constructing interactive courses that teach critical information and tradecraft, requiring a passion for understanding customer needs. The Instructional Designer will work with SMEs, instructors, and learning technologists to capture training needs and advise on the right learning solution. The position emphasizes putting the learner at the center of the training experience, designing creative learning solutions in a collaborative team environment. The designer will build training material with multimedia specialists, graphic artists, instructors, and technical SMEs, following instructional design methodologies. They will use technical skills, creativity, and experience to develop engaging, interactive learning experiences, recommend cutting-edge learning solutions and strategies (including blended learning and gamification), and communicate with SMEs, instructors, and product designers to incorporate feedback. The role also involves collecting and analyzing results using evaluation methodologies like the Kirkpatrick Model to fine-tune training for maximum impact. Additionally, the Instructional Designer will hone leadership skills through mentoring and identify new opportunities to build solutions for customer learning needs. This is a chance to use deep understanding of training methodologies to shape a creative learning experience that will engage students and improve national security.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience performing instructional design tasks using adult learning methodologies in a professional environment
  • Experience designing instructor-led and web-based training
  • Experience applying accessibility and usability standards to adult learning solutions
  • Ability to analyze various sources of course content, including policies and regulations to develop adult learning solutions
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience creating learning-centered experiences applying the ADDIE method
  • Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design preferred; Master's degree in Instructional Design a plus
  • Adult Learning Theories and Implementation Certification
