POSITION SUMMARY TransMedics is transforming organ transplantation through the Organ Care System (OCS). The Instructional Designer / Learning Experience Designer Intern will support the design, development, and delivery of engaging training programs across the organization. This role provides hands-on experience in course development, multimedia design, learning technology, and performance measurement within a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This internship is ideal for students passionate about education, instructional design, learning technologies, and creating meaningful learning experiences. RESPONSIBILITIES This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Learning Needs Analysis Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to analyze training needs Determine appropriate learning modalities to meet performance objectives Participate in all phases of the courseware development cycle Course & Content Development Design engaging learning activities and interactive course content Create storyboards and translate them into web-based learning modules Develop assessments and surveys to measure learning effectiveness Analyze feedback and recommend content improvements Multimedia & Design Perform graphic design and user interface design for training materials Develop production graphics and multimedia elements Ensure visual consistency and high-quality presentation standards LMS & Technical Development Support development of SCORM-compliant content packages Assist with uploading and testing content in the LMS Apply instructional methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM, or Agile Quality & Collaboration Conduct content QA including technical writing and grammar review Work cross-functionally with stakeholders across departments Maintain clear communication throughout development cycles What You’ll Learn End-to-end instructional design processes How to build SCORM-compliant eLearning modules Learning analytics and performance measurement strategies Cross-functional collaboration in a corporate environment How learning initiatives drive organizational effectiveness MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have direct reports. PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES General office environment where there is a significant amount of time at a desk, working on computers and reviewing documents. This requires the ability to sit for extended periods. They also may need to stand for meetings or when moving around the office. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Pursuing a degree in Education, Instructional Design, Communications, or related field College Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience with curriculum or course development (academic or internship) Ability to collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and cross-functional stakeholders Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects Proficiency in Microsoft Office Experience with at least one instructional development tool (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) Portfolio of relevant academic or professional work PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Familiarity with instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, Agile) Experience working within an LMS platform Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite Experience creating storyboards and translating them into interactive eLearning modules Knowledge of SCORM and training standards Experience with multimedia design, graphic design, or UI design Exposure to learning analytics, performance measurement, or survey analysis Why This Internship Stands Out You will gain hands-on experience designing professional learning experiences that directly support business performance.
