About The Position

This Instructional Design Specialist role involves assisting colleagues with designing and implementing online courses and computer training. The specialist will develop new curriculum, translate existing content to new formats, assess needs, design instruction, and evaluate courses. They will also provide instructional design and technical expertise for web-based projects and online learning, including conceptualizing design options, deploying programs, and assessing education technology. Project management and tracking are also key responsibilities. Strong video and audio editing/production experience is preferred, as is knowledge of gamification and interactive technologies. The role may require biannual on-site visits and is a hybrid position, requiring the individual to live within 100 miles of the Jacksonville, Rochester, or Scottsdale Mayo Clinic campus. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree plus 3 to 5 years of related experience is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated success in curriculum design and development.
  • Proficiency in standard productivity software, web-based authoring systems, graphics software and multimedia applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in education, instructional design or related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing relational and web-based databases is beneficial.
  • Strong video and audio editing and production experience preferred.
  • Gamification and other interactive technology knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of professional duties assisting colleagues with designing and implementing online courses as well as computer training support.
  • Work with staff to develop new education curriculum (courses, content and materials) and translate existing content to new delivery formats.
  • Conduct an assessment of needs, design curriculum for instruction, and implement and follow up with an evaluation of courses and curriculum created.
  • Provide ongoing instructional design and technical expertise for colleagues in the development of web-based projects and online learning opportunities.
  • Conceptualize design options, programs, and deploy them.
  • Assist in assessing education technology products for efficacy on an ongoing basis.
  • Project management and tracking.
