Established by Congress in 1974, the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) is the country’s single largest funder of civil legal aid for low-income Americans. LSC currently funds 129 independent legal aid offices nationwide. LSC’s mission is to promote equal access to justice and provide grants for high-quality civil legal assistance to low-income Americans. The Office of Training and Technical Assistance (OTTA) supports LSC grantees by delivering high-quality training programs, technical assistance resources, and capacity-building initiatives. OTTA works collaboratively across LSC offices to strengthen professional development, improve service delivery, and promote best practices in legal aid. The internships are based in Washington, DC, and will require working from an office in DC in accordance with LSC’s hybrid work model. The successful candidates must live in the DC metropolitan area for the duration of the internship. The primary objectives of this internship are for the intern to strengthen training, technical, and project management skills; learn best practices in adult learning and instructional design; build skills in organizing training materials, images, templates, and other visual assets; strengthen time management and effective professional behaviors while working on multiple time-sensitive projects; and gain hands-on experience supporting OTTA’s learning platforms, digital content, and resource organization. The internship is expected to run from September through December 2026. Interns will work part-time, up to 28 hours per week during the fall.
