About The Position

We are looking for an industrial design intern to join us in our Brooklyn studio! We work across categories, and some projects may be focused on high-level concepts, but many go into production. Be prepared to work on projects that span the full design life cycle from user research, the feasibility of design concepts, through to manufacturing. We’re especially fond of quick thinkers, problem solvers and good communicators with a well-developed sense of form, proportion, color and materials.

Requirements

• Degree in industrial design or related field
• 1 or more internships as an industrial designer
• Strong 2D skills like hand sketching, Illustrator and Photoshop rendering
• Strong 3D CAD skills in SolidWorks
• An incurable curiosity relating to all things design
• Passion for conceptualizing and designing meaningful product solutions for people in their homes
• No fear of teamwork, brainstorming sessions or presenting in front of your team
• Proactive communicator, making you a responsive team player
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Nice To Haves

• Housewares industry experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Work on projects that span the full design life cycle from user research, the feasibility of design concepts, through to manufacturing.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions.
• Present design concepts in front of the team.

Benefits

• Hourly rate will be dependent on educational experience either $22 (undergraduate degree) or $24 (graduate degree) per hour.
• Opportunity to convert to a full-time role.
