About The Position

The Instructional Content Specialist will be responsible for creating and overseeing all curriculum, including programming changes and additions. This role involves working closely with subject matter experts to identify learning needs, developing courseware independently or collaboratively, and managing projects from inception to completion. The specialist will coordinate with subject matter experts and task owners to ensure content accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project deadlines. Responsibilities also include revising and reviewing course content and instructional materials, implementing virtual training, developing training media like videos and webinars, and exploring opportunities for professional development hours and course accreditation. For eLearning content, the role involves development up to the production phase and collaboration with eLearning Developers. Maintaining current knowledge of instructional design theory, adult learning methodologies, and trends is crucial, as is proactively seeking solutions and evaluating/improving existing training programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, communication, education or equivalent from a four year College, OR University and three to four years related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Organizational and project management planning skills and abilities

  • Experience with eLearning content creation up to the production phase
  • Experience coordinating with eLearning Developers
  • Knowledge of adult learning methodologies and instructional trends

Responsibilities

  • Create and oversee all curriculum including programming changes and additions
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to identify what participants need to learn
  • Develop courseware independently and collaborate with others when necessary
  • Oversee projects
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts during the development stage to ensure consistency and cohesiveness throughout the content
  • Coordinate with task owners to ensure project meets milestone and project deadlines
  • Revise, rewrite and review course content and any supporting instructional materials for accuracy to reflect new functionality, product releases, and feedback from trainers and learners
  • Implement and coordinate virtual training offerings
  • Develop training media such as training videos and webinars
  • Identify new and current training offerings to determine if any professional development hours can be offered
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure functionality of equipment and technology used for training efforts
  • Instill program sustainability and lead efforts for course recognition or accreditation where appropriate with governing bodies and organizations
  • Responsible for eLearning content development up to the production phase
  • Coordinate and routinely communicate with eLearning Developer to hand off projects and storyboards at production phase
  • Maintain current knowledge of instructional design theory, adult learning methodologies, and instructional trends to maximize learning and performance
  • Proactively seek solutions and enhancements to training courses and content
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the current training programs and support and make improvements as necessary
