Assabet Valley Collaborative (AVC) is seeking a Culturally Responsive/Student Driven Instructional Coach at Orchard Street Academy (OSA). AVC is a Metrowest/Central Massachusetts educational service agency providing school programs, wraparound services, transportation, professional development, cooperative purchasing, and consulting. OSA is a small public therapeutic school (grades 6th-12th) serving 62 students from over 30 districts, all with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). OSA focuses on academics, counseling, expressive therapies (music, art, drama), electives, and community development seminars. The school has a gymnasium, track, basketball court, music room, and art room. Many faculty have training in Cultural Proficiency, Restorative Justice, Shared Leadership, Trauma-Informed Care, Healing and Wellness, and Student-driving/Student-centered Learning. Despite commitments to equity, OSA faces challenges such as limited staff diversity, disparities in student outcomes, and inconsistent family engagement. AVC and OSA are seeking leaders to support transformation and redesign for teaching and learning. The Instructional Coach will serve as a leader and learner, demonstrating flexibility, resourcefulness, and a collaborative mindset in a fast-paced, non-traditional environment. This role involves direct and indirect support of students, staff, and caregivers, with a primary focus on increasing educational outcomes for historically underrepresented students, providing culturally responsive curriculum, developing professional learning, and achieving defined objectives. This is a non-evaluative role that requires accountability through feedback. Team members are expected to be comfortable with diverse responsibilities, including administrative tasks.
