About The Position
Monsignor Slade Catholic School, a Pre-K(2)–8th grade Catholic school in Glen Burnie, Maryland, is seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant (IA) for the 2026–2027 school year. IA's play a vital role in supporting instruction by working directly with teachers and students in the classroom. Hours are subject to change, but punctual attendance is required Monday through Friday, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The ideal candidate is dependable, student-centered, organized, flexible, and committed to supporting both teachers and students in a faith-filled learning environment. This position will work 20-24 hours per week.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude when working with students.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and classroom management.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students as directed by the teacher.
- Help prepare instructional materials and resources for lessons and activities.
- Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunchtime, and other non-instructional periods.
- Reinforce positive behavior and classroom expectations.
- Assist with classroom organization, cleaning, and setup as needed.
