This position will be available for the 2026-2027 School Year. The Instructional Assistant assists student(s) who require modifications and accommodations to gain access to a free and appropriate public education as directed by the classroom instructor. The role involves assisting with the supervision of students both inside and outside the classroom, providing care and supervision at all times, and escorting students when required. The assistant will also prepare materials, support the teacher with clerical tasks, provide instruction under supervision, manage student behavior, and guide students integrated into general education classes. Additional duties include bus duty, personal care, maintaining certifications (CPR, Safety Care), executing specialized diets, lifting and positioning students with adaptive equipment, implementing Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS), educating on and implementing medical action plans, delivering emergency treatments, utilizing universal precautions, working with substitute teachers, supervising school-sponsored activities, laundering soiled clothing, aiding students during medical incidents, and moving with the assigned student as they matriculate through the school system. The position also includes performing other duties as assigned.
