About The Position
St. Joan of Arc School in Aberdeen, Maryland is seeking a full-time, qualified Instructional Assistant for our Pre-K3 program for the 2026–2027 school year. The Instructional Assistant, Elementary School supports classroom teachers in creating a positive, organized, and effective learning environment. Responsibilities include assisting with daily classroom activities, preparing instructional materials, helping with grading, and providing one-on-one support to students who may need additional guidance.
Requirements
- Must be an active practicing Catholic.
Nice To Haves
- Degree in Elementary Education and/or 90-hour childcare certification preferred.
- Experience in a Catholic School setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Prepare age-appropriate materials.
- Help organize and prepare resources for students.
- Help in integrating technology to effectively create a 21st-century learning environments within the classroom (ISTE Standards).
- Collaborating with other teachers, staff, students, and parents to support student progress.
- Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management.
- Participate in all faculty meetings, retreats, school committees and in-service learning opportunities.
- Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with parents.
