About The Position

The Instructional Assistant / Paraeducator works with special needs students in a classroom setting at Overlake Hospital's Specialty School in Bellevue. The role assists with the development and delivery of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and works closely with the classroom teacher to supervise classroom-related activities. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position.

Requirements

High school graduation.
Meet Washington State paraprofessional guidelines, including two years of college credit.
Obtain Right Response certification within the first six months of employment.
Obtain non-healthcare CPR and First Aid certifications within the first year of employment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Education or a Mental Health field.
Previous experience working with behaviorally disturbed, mentally ill, and/or children with learning disabilities.
Previous experience in intensive psychiatric treatment facilities or school systems.
Current Washington State driver's license.

Responsibilities
