About The Position

The College of Engineering and Technology at Grand Canyon University (GCU) is seeking passionate faculty and faculty leaders to engage and mentor students in the continuously changing worlds of IT and Engineering. Faculty at GCU are energetic advisors committed to student growth academically, spiritually, and personally. They are experts in their fields and passionate educators and collaborators who enhance the college experience. GCU's College of Engineering and Technology offers rewarding opportunities for adjunct faculty to teach part-time, face-to-face instruction at its Phoenix campus. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and passionate about teaching exceptional quality instruction in modern facilities with smaller class sizes. The course, 'Intro to Database Structures,' examines the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of relational database structures with an emphasis on appropriate application and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher in an Engineering or Technology discipline
  • Completion of relevant coursework in the instructional area, with a grade of B or higher in each course
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to building positive relationships with students
  • Proficiency in English grammar and APA formatting
  • A desire to contribute to a Christ-centered university environment

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in any discipline and engineering/technology coursework may also be considered

Responsibilities

  • Support program instruction using innovative teaching methods, current technologies, and up-to-date industry practices
  • Ensure alignment with program accreditation requirements and university standards
  • Be available to work on GCU’s Main Campus at least two days per week
  • Contribute to the university community through active participation in its programs and alignment with its mission and values
  • Serve as a role model by embracing and upholding GCU’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and overall mission
