About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Educational Specialist/ Case Carrier, the Instructional Assistant - Intensive Behavioral Intervention (IA-IBI) assists classroom teacher/s in reinforcing instruction and appropriate behavior to individual or small groups of students enrolled in special education programs. The IA-IBI assists in the implementation of student Behavior Support Plans, and in the preparation and implementation of instructional materials and lesson plans for the development of students’ vocational, social, and independent living skills. The IA-IBI also assists in the implementation of individual education plans and behavior support plans (BSP), provides other supportive tasks for instruction, and offers routine clerical support.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school.
  • College coursework in Child Development, Education, Social Work, or any other related field.
  • One-year experience working with school-age students with behavioral needs in an organization setting or learning environment.
