Instructional Assistant IIIs support students with severe/emotionally disturbed needs. This role involves working with students who have a Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs, or students designated as emotionally disturbed (ED) or autism, or those assigned to a Behaviorist to assist individual students. The position requires experience working with groups of children, and experience with impaired children or adults is highly desirable. Coursework in child development is also highly desirable. In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license is necessary.
