Instructional Assistant IIIs support students with severe emotional disturbances. This role involves working with students who have learning handicaps or communicatively handicaps programs, or students designated as emotionally disturbed, in an autism class, or assigned to a behaviorist for individual assistance. The position requires experience working with groups of children and is highly desirable for candidates with experience working with impaired children or adults. Coursework in child development is also highly desirable. Some programs may require possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain, a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.
