About The Position

This position is for an Instructional Assistant III in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) at Derfelt ES. The role is part of the Resource Room program and is a 9-month position with 6 hours per day.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree or 60 college credits, or passage of the ParaPro assessment.
• One year of experience working with students in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of basic child development and behavior management techniques.
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists a certificated teacher in providing instruction and supervision to individuals and small groups of students.
• Assists in the preparation of instructional materials and learning environments.
• Assists in the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Assists in monitoring student progress and behavior.
• Performs clerical and other related duties as assigned.
