About The Position

Instructional Assistant II's work with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. This role involves running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class settings or General Education, and supporting the teacher's needs. The district is looking for candidates with any combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties. In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain, a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license may be required.

Requirements

  • List on application experience that is relevant to this position.
  • Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam (testing date must be April 2005 to current. No other school districts proficiency exam accepted).
  • Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
  • OFFICIAL transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units).
  • Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher). If your degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, YOU MUST have coursework evaluated for its equivalency to a degree/transcripts received from an accredited United States college or university.
  • Possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license (in some programs).
