About The Position

This is a part-time (0.75 FTE) Instructional Assistant II position supporting students with mild/moderate support needs in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. The role involves working with students in various settings, including small groups, large groups, Special Day Class, and General Education, while also supporting the teacher's needs. The position is permanent and located at Rio Americano High School.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (April 2005 to current) OR Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
Passing the IA Proficiency Test or having the CBEST is required, regardless of educational background.
Experience and training which provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties.
In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.
If degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, coursework must be evaluated for its equivalency to a degree/transcripts received from an accredited United States college or university.

Responsibilities

Running small groups of students.
Assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class settings or General Education.
Supporting the teacher's needs.
