About The Position

Instructional Assistant IIs support our severe/emotionally disturbed students. We are looking for candidates with any combination of experience and training which provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties. This role involves working with students who have a Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs. Students designated as an emotionally disturbed (ED) class or an autism class or assigned to a Behaviorist to assist individual students. Experience working with groups of children; experience working with impaired children or adults highly desirable; coursework in child development highly desirable. In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.

Requirements

  • Attach High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Attach one document [A or B]: [A] Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (April 2005 to current) OR [B] Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
  • Passing the IA Proficiency Test or having the CBEST is required, regardless of educational background.
  • Applications submitted without the required test results will not be considered.

  • Scan and attach all required documents before the job posting deadline.

Nice To Haves
