About The Position

This is a part-time, permanent Instructional Assistant II position supporting students with mild/moderate support needs. The role involves working with students in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. Typical duties include running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class and General Education settings, and supporting the teacher's needs. The district is looking for candidates with relevant experience and training that provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties. In some programs, a valid California Class C Driver License may be required within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (April 2005 to current) OR Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
Passing the IA Proficiency Test or having the CBEST is required, regardless of educational background.

If your degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, you must have coursework evaluated for its equivalency to a degree/transcripts received from an accredited United States college or university.
