About The Position

This is a 1:1 Instructional Assistant II position at Pasteur MS, working 6 hours per day. The role involves working with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. Typical duties include running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class settings or General Education, and supporting the teacher's needs. We are looking for candidates with relevant experience and training that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties. In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain, a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license is necessary.

Requirements

Relevant experience and training which provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties
Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (testing date must be April 2005 to current) OR Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) for Non-Title I Sites.
Passing the IA Proficiency Test or having the CBEST is required, regardless of educational background.
High School Diploma or equivalent for Non-Title I Sites.
For Title I Sites: Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam OR Official passing score from CBEST OR Official transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units) OR Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher).
If degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, coursework must be evaluated for its equivalency to a degree/transcripts from an accredited U.S. college or university.
Willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license (in some programs).
