About The Position
This is a 1:1 Instructional Assistant II position at Barrett Middle School, working 6 hours per day. The role involves working with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. Typical duties include running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class settings or General Education, and supporting the teacher's needs. The position is permanent and part-time, with a salary range of $19.51 - $24.47 plus a 5% Hard to Staff Stipend. The work year is 9 months/year, 206 days/year, 5 days/week, with the work day being 6 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM.
Requirements
- Relevant experience and training that provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties.
- Non-Title Sites: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Non-Title Sites: Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (testing date must be April 2005 to current) OR Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
- Title I Sites: Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam (testing date must be April 2005 to current) OR Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) OR Official transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units) OR Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher).
- If degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, coursework must be evaluated for equivalency to a degree/transcripts from an accredited U.S. college or university.
- Possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license (in some programs).
