About The Position

Instructional Assistant I at Sierra Oaks K-8 School. This is a permanent, part-time position working 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The work year is 9 months, comprising 206 days per year, on the Elementary Instructional Assistant calendar 18A. The position pays $18.11–$20.65 per hour under the CSEA General Unit Salary Schedule, with benefits included. The position is available as soon as possible. Applicants must list relevant experience on the application and attach a high school diploma or equivalent, plus either a passing San Juan Unified School District Proficiency Exam score (test date April 2005 or later) or an official passing California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) score. One of these test results is required regardless of educational background. Applications missing required materials, requested information, or a signature will not be considered. In some programs, a valid California Class C Driver License, or the willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire or before driving equipment or a vehicle requiring it, may be required.

Requirements

Previous experience working with groups of children.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Passing score on the San Juan Unified School District Proficiency Exam, with a test date from April 2005 to the present, or an official passing score on the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST). This test requirement applies regardless of educational background.
In some programs, possession of or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving equipment or a vehicle requiring the license.
