About The Position

Properly trained paraprofessionals play an important role in improving student achievement in schools. The instructional aide will be asked daily by their supervising teacher to assist, support, and supervise students.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license.
Pass a background check.
Completed application checklist.
Two years of passing college credits or passing score on the Paraprofessional Test.
Must be available to work starting at 6:30 a.m. Monday- Friday
Knowledge and skills to assist participants in meeting content and performance standards.
Punctual, dependable, and maintains excellent attendance.
Willingness to participate fully in training necessary for success as an instructional aide.

Responsibilities

Maintain a caring and patient approach.
Speak with children respectfully using intentional language.
Listen attentively and respond appropriately using age-appropriate best practices.
Guide children’s behavior in positive ways, ensuring safety, refraining from physical manipulation, and encouraging independence.
Interact with all stakeholders in ways that support curricular objectives.
Maintain awareness of activities and behavior throughout the classroom.
Interact positively with all building staff.
Accept direction willingly from supervisors and building leadership.
Demonstrate willingness to participate in professional learning and training opportunities related to Early Childhood education.
Remain positive when working with identified students, helping them build self-esteem and achieve goals.
Model appropriate play and communication skills to foster positive peer interactions and empathy.
Maintain a clean and healthy learning environment.
Assist children with basic hygiene, toileting, and diapering as needed.
