About The Position

The Link Before/After School Instructional Aide assists the program coordinator by working with elementary aged students on educational and enrichment activities. The position requires both before and after school work hours on MCPS school days and additional work hours as needed on non-school days. The aide works a flexible schedule on school days during the school year. On non-school days or during the summer months, the aide may work additional hours as needed and approved. The position allows the aide to work up to 25 hours per week.

Requirements

Successful completion of an associates degree, 48 semester hours of college from an accredited college or university, or a passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment exam
Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength
Ability to cooperate with other staff members
Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
Dependability and punctuality required
Ability to maintain an unquestionable degree of confidentiality
Have the physical ability to repeatedly lift heavy objects (20+ lbs.) as needed
Must have up-to-date certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED (training provided by MCPS)

Responsibilities

Assists the program coordinator by working with elementary aged students on educational and enrichment activities.

Supports school functions and community activities as deemed necessary.
Responds to emergencies in support of students and school operations.
