About The Position

The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM), part of the University of Arkansas System, is seeking an Institutional Services Assistant for Custodial Services. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within the institution. UAM is a comprehensive, residential and commuter, undergraduate institution offering selected master’s degree programs, located in southeastern Arkansas.

Requirements

Completion of sufficient education or training to read and write.
Job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.
Flexibility to extend arms/hands: a) straight above head, b) in front of body, and c) outward from sides of body.
Flexibility to squat and bend over at waist.
Ability to lift approximately 25lbs.
Ability to climb stairs repeatedly.
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

Cleaning floors by sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping as required.
Emptying waste baskets and dumping trash, replacing trash bags.
Wiping furniture clean such as desktops, tables, and other surfaces.
Cleaning restroom facilities, replacing paper towels and tissue as needed and maintaining adequate supply of each.
Notifying supervisor of maintenance and repairs needed in areas cleaned.
Performing other responsibilities as required or assigned.
Stripping and waxing floors.
Using pressure washer for cleaning exterior windows and other exterior items.
Working in excess of 40 hours occasionally.
Being in-call as needed.
