The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (OIRE) at CU Denver | Anschutz supports the university’s mission through data-driven insight, strategic reporting, and campus-wide collaboration. Our work transforms raw information into actionable knowledge that helps leaders, faculty, and staff make informed decisions that shape the student experience, academic excellence, and institutional growth. OIRE specializes in data collection, reporting, analysis, and visualization. We partner with leadership teams, academic departments, and student service areas to provide high-quality data and evidence-based recommendations that promote student success and operational effectiveness. This Institutional Research and Survey Support Analyst position will participate in several efforts of the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (OIRE). This includes responding to recurring and ad hoc requests for data/information about CU Denver and CU Anschutz.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, social sciences, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • 1 (one) year of professional level experience in data analysis and reporting, to include using a variety of tools to present, summarize, and manipulate data (including creating tables, charts and graphs) and experience working with SQL, SAS, SPSS or other data management or data warehousing tools.
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of professional level experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools, particularly Tableau
  • Survey experience: survey design and analysis and/or building, managing, and administering surveys in Qualtrics or other survey tool.
  • Previous institutional research or other education/higher education analytic roles

Responsibilities

  • Respond to requests for information and analysis from within CU Denver and CU Anschutz (administration, school/colleges, faculty, staff, and students) by combining, analyzing, and interpreting data resulting from operational activities of CU Denver | Anschutz to provide information that supports institutional planning, policy formulation and decision making.
  • Prepare mandatory and ad hoc analyses and reports for CU System administration, state/federal agencies, and other external constituencies, such as college guidebook publications.
  • Organize, combine, summarize, and analyze data about students and/or faculty/staff from a variety of sources, including identification of new or enhanced sources as needed.
  • Assist campus partners with survey administration including building surveys in Qualtrics, managing distributions and creating visualization of survey results.
  • Stay up to date on website requirements, manage website maintenance, and facilitate campus-wide office communications.
