About The Position

The Department of Institutional Effectiveness and Quality Improvement is seeking an Institutional Research Analyst. This role will be instrumental in maintaining and supporting data sharing through various platforms including websites, dashboards, and cloud-based systems. The analyst will be responsible for data collection from sources such as Workday, Prism, Tableau, Data Warehouse, and surveys. A key aspect of the role involves performing data analyses to identify trends, patterns, and draw conclusions, as well as collaborating with end-users to understand their data requirements and configure systems accordingly. The position also involves conducting statistical analyses to support university needs, including trend, regression, and probability analyses. Additionally, the analyst will assist in the configuration and maintenance of data systems like Workday, Tableau, and the Data Warehouse, along with their associated databases and spreadsheets. Responsibilities extend to assisting with Federal and State Accountability Reporting (IPEDS, KBOR, Common Data Set, Factbook, etc.), coordinating and collecting data from various surveys, and training end-users on data systems. The role also includes assisting with U.S. News and World Reports national statistical surveys and peer assessment surveys, as well as the Common Data Set. The position does not have hire/fire authority.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information assurance management, computer science and technology, or related field.
  • A minimum of two years of related experience.
  • Experience must include performing data management within institutions of higher education.
  • Must have experience utilizing SQL to write complex queries and manage data across different database systems.
  • Must have experience with ETL and data modeling to pull data from various sources and transform data into a usable format.
  • Must have experience utilizing Tableau or similar tool to create visuals and communicate insights gleaned from data to a non-technical audience.
  • Must have experience providing skills development workshops and one-on-one training.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance and support of data sharing through web sites, dashboards, and cloud-based systems.
  • Data collection through Workday, Prism, Tableau, Data Warehouse, and surveys etc.
  • Perform data analyses to determine trends, discern patterns, and draw conclusions.
  • Work with end-users to determine data needs and configure systems to gather and provide that data.
  • Conduct statistical analyses supporting the university needs including trend, regression, and probability analyses.
  • Assist in the configuration and maintenance of data systems: Workday, Tableau, Data Warehouse and associated set of back-end databases and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with maintaining Federal and State Accountability Reporting (IPEDS, KBOR, Common Data Set, Factbook, etc.; additional ranking agencies and accrediting bodies)
  • Assist in coordinating and collecting data from course surveys, on-line forms, and other surveys.
  • Assist in training end-users to use the above data systems effectively.
  • Assist in the coordination and completion of U.S. News and World Reports national statistical surveys, and assist with completing peer assessment surveys for the university each spring and fall and assist with reporting outcomes.
  • Assist in the coordination and completion of the Common Data Set.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
