About The Position

Indiana Tech is seeking an innovative, analytical, and collaborative professional to serve as its Institutional Intelligent Operations Manager. Reporting to the Executive Director of the AI Institute, this position will lead the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence-enabled tools, automation, and analytics across Indiana Tech’s academic and administrative operations. The Institutional Intelligent Operations Manager serves as the operational bridge connecting the AI Institute, the Learning Exchange, Information Technology, and university departments to identify, evaluate, implement, and scale technology solutions that improve efficiency, decision-making, and the overall institutional experience. This role serves as the technical and operational backbone behind several of Indiana Tech’s strategic AI initiatives, including the Warrior AI Digital Learning Hub, readiness-survey analytics, curriculum evaluation platforms, Learning Exchange systems, and Employer Portal technologies. The successful candidate will help ensure that AI-powered solutions are implemented responsibly, securely, and in compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements. Primary responsibilities include identifying opportunities for AI-enabled automation and analytics, evaluating new technologies and vendors, managing intelligent-operations pilot projects, and collaborating with campus stakeholders to redesign processes around AI-assisted tools. The Manager will oversee projects from concept through implementation, helping departments realize operational efficiencies, improve services, and strengthen data-informed decision-making. The Institutional Intelligent Operations Manager serves as the AI Institute’s operational liaison to Information Technology and the University AI Council, evaluating AI tools and vendors for privacy, security, and compliance risks prior to implementation. This position will maintain the university’s inventory of AI tools and their associated data flows, support institutional compliance reviews, establish dashboards and performance metrics, provide change-management support, and monitor emerging technologies that may benefit Indiana Tech. Working collaboratively with leaders across Academic Affairs, Human Resources, Finance, Enrollment Services, Information Technology, the Learning Exchange, and the AI Institute, the Manager will help drive innovative solutions that support both academic and operational excellence. The position also contributes to staff development, supports strategic initiatives, and advances Indiana Tech’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, data analytics, operations, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education administration, information technology, operations, process improvement, or project leadership
  • Strong understanding of generative AI technologies, automation tools, and analytics platforms, as well as their administrative and academic applications
  • Understanding of data-privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance considerations associated with emerging technologies, particularly within higher education environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects
  • Demonstrated experience implementing process improvements
  • Demonstrated experience managing initiatives involving diverse stakeholder groups
