About The Position

The Ballmer Institute for Children's Behavioral Health at the University of Oregon aims to increase access to behavioral health support for children and families through provider training, research, and community capacity building. The Institute Support Specialist will oversee operations at the reception desk, serving as the primary point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and external visitors. This role involves administrative coordination, timeline management, and task execution to ensure smooth operations. Key duties include supporting institute leaders with scheduling and travel, managing the front desk area, and assisting the Community Advisory Board.

Requirements

  • Two years of general clerical experience, with one year including typing, word processing, or document generation.
  • OR An Associate's degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology.
  • OR Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience.
  • College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and manage time appropriately.
  • Ability to work well independently and also contribute as a team member.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with Canvas and website tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a higher education setting, preferably in an academic support, administrative, or faculty services role.
