About The Position

The Installer is the installation technician for residential and/or commercial garage doors, door openers, and keyless entry systems. Work will be performed in newly constructed or existing homes and commercial buildings. An installer will have the responsibility of reviewing work orders for accuracy and completeness prior to leaving for the jobsite. An installer is the first line of support for customers and expected to keep a neat and clean appearance as well as always treat all customers with a high level of customer service and respect.

Requirements

  • Possess a strong understanding of garage door systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
  • Knowledge of different types of garage doors and openers is essential.
  • Have excellent mechanical skills and be comfortable using hand and power tools.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for interacting with customers and explaining installation procedures.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot garage door issues effectively.
  • Be detail-oriented to ensure precise installation and repair work.
  • Prioritize safety and follow safety guidelines rigorously to prevent accidents.

  • Valid class D Drivers License with a clean driving record

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

  • Previous customer service experience a plus
  • May be required to obtain various certifications related to assigned area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Review work order information for accuracy and completeness and address any questions prior to leaving for the jobsite.
  • Accurately record on work order any pertinent details of installation, i.e. head room, other issues or problems.
  • Install door and associated components as indicated on the work order
  • Learn to become efficient at the alignment of tracks, track adjustment, horizontal leveling with slight raise, adequate back hangs, operator arm and photo eye settings.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
