About The Position

The Installer is responsible for supporting tarp system installation through various metalworking tasks such as cutting, burning, drilling, bolting, and welding. This role requires the ability to select appropriate tools and materials for safe and high-quality execution of tasks, ensuring all work meets industry standards for finish and cleanliness. The position also involves contributing to continuous improvement, maintaining a safe work environment, performing basic equipment maintenance, and adhering to 5-S principles. The Installer will perform other duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge to select proper tools and material(s) to perform the task safely and at the highest level of quality possible.
  • Ability to perform tasks supporting tarp system installation through cutting, burning, drilling, bolting and welding various types of metals according to the product specifications.
  • Ability to de-burr and clean all material cuts to the highest possible standards.
  • Ability to ensure all welds display material melt flow and are 100% de-slagged and cleaned to an industry standard high quality finish.
  • Must wear all prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing the assigned tasks.
  • Must practice 5-S within their defined work area.
  • Must return all common tools to their proper place when not in use.
  • Must clean the assigned work area once all work has been completed.
  • Perform simple and routine maintenance to ensure that all equipment and tools remain safe and fully operational.
  • Ability to lock out equipment immediately if it is in an unsafe condition and notify a supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all material cuts are de-burred and cleaned to high standards.
  • Ensure all welds display material melt flow and are 100% de-slagged and cleaned to a high-quality finish.
  • Strive to support continuous improvement across personal tasks, the department, and the business.
  • Maintain a safe work environment at all times and wear all prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Stop work immediately in the event of a non-conformance.
  • Report any unsafe act or condition that requires corrective action to the plant manager immediately.
  • Practice 5-S within the defined work area, return common tools to their proper place, and clean the assigned work area.
  • Perform simple and routine maintenance to ensure equipment and tools remain safe and operational.
  • Lock out equipment in an unsafe condition and notify a supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Branch Manager or Site Leader.
