About The Position

Hillyard, Inc. is seeking an Installation & Sales Support Specialist to join their Sales team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals who are good with their hands, comfortable using basic tools, and possess strong customer service skills. The position offers an opportunity to learn the business from the ground up and build skills for a future career in sales. The specialist will work directly with customers and the Sales team in the field, installing items like soap and chemical dispensers, assisting with product demonstrations, supporting floor care projects, and learning how Hillyard solves customer facility challenges. The company is looking for someone with hands-on installation and troubleshooting abilities, along with the personality and customer service skills to build strong relationships. Hillyard will provide training on products, solutions, and the sales aspect of the business.

Requirements

  • Comfortable using basic hand tools and completing installations.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn how products and equipment work.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working directly with customers in different environments.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Valid driver's license and a strong driving record.
  • Comfortable driving with a trailer.
  • Able to work independently while also supporting a team.
  • Interested in learning products, equipment, customer needs, and the sales process.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in installation, maintenance, facilities, construction, equipment service, route service, warehouse operations, or another hands-on customer-facing position.
  • Previous sales experience is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Install soap, chemical, and other dispensing systems at customer locations.
  • Use basic hand tools to complete installations and minor adjustments.
  • Coordinate and schedule customer installations.
  • Keep installation tools, supplies, and materials organized and ready for use.
  • Work directly with customers while providing friendly, professional service.
  • Assist the Sales team with customer demonstrations, field workshops, and product education.
  • Transport and set up equipment for demonstrations at customer locations.
  • Assist with hard floor coatings and floor refinishing projects.
  • Learn about commercial cleaning equipment and how to evaluate equipment condition and customer needs.
  • Support warehouse and Sales operations as needed.
