A Day in the Life as an Installation Manager As the Installation Manager, you are a dynamic leader dedicated to overseeing all aspects of both fiber optic cable and wireless installation projects. Each day, you will drive project efficiency and ensure timely completion while maintaining strict adherence to industry standards and safety regulations. This role requires a unique blend of strategic foresight and hands-on leadership. You will spend your time guiding planning, master mapping, and managing a high-performing team of field technicians out in the communities we serve. By collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and customers, you ensure our field operations deliver an outstanding customer experience safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of direct experience successfully managing and leading a team within roles such as; Utility Operations Manager, Telecom Installation Manager, Field Operations Supervisor, Project Manager, Construction Supervisor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to interface directly and effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and influence skills, with a proven knack for pivoting quickly as priorities shift in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working directly as a Field Technician, Installer, or in Telecommunications Operations.
  • A strong understanding of fiber optic cable installation principles, splicing techniques, testing procedures, and industry standards (e.g., ANSI/SCTE), alongside general knowledge of wireless internet systems
  • High aptitude for learning and a proactive approach to growing technical skills.
  • High attention to detail and a deep commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong sense of urgency and dedication to following through on all tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Adaptability to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Safety-focused mindset, consistently adhering to all company safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and develop a growing team of field technicians, overseeing hiring, onboarding, continuous training, and performance management.
  • Revise and define master installation plans to meet ongoing demands and lead comprehensive territory planning.
  • Ensure all field installations are performed strictly in accordance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety guidelines and policies.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with customers, contractors, engineers, and project managers.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve project workflow, reduce operational costs, and enhance overall safety and quality standards.
  • Utilize and maximize individual team member talents to achieve aggressive company project goals and maintain top-tier productivity.
