About The Position

We’re looking for an Install Department Manager to lead our installation team and take ownership of the people, planning, and execution behind every project. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working with talented people, solving problems in real time, and taking pride in getting the details right.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing teams.
  • Strong, hands-on knowledge of fabrication and installation.
  • Comfortable working with wood, solid surface, plastics, laminates, and metal.
  • Familiarity with the tools and methods used to install these materials.
  • Confident reading architectural drawings.
  • Ability to build schedules.
  • Experience leading teams through complex installations.
  • Strong communicator.
  • Strong problem solver.
  • Ability to stay organized and composed under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with design-led industries.
  • Experience with CAD or ERP systems.
  • Experience with labor regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled installers.
  • Serve as the team’s primary point of contact, providing direction on complex projects.
  • Build accountability and create a culture where people can do their best work.
  • Lead from the front on high-profile installations and strikes, ensuring finished work meets Axiom’s standards.
  • Work closely with engineering, shop management, and operations to set projects up for success.
  • Review drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate or conduct site visits.
  • Plan labor and logistics.
  • Build schedules.
  • Allocate resources to keep projects moving efficiently and within budget.
  • Step in to find solutions and keep everyone aligned when challenges arise.
  • Shape department operations, including installation standards, workflows, managing tools, travel, safety, and labor compliance.
  • Bring structure and consistency to a fast-moving environment.
