About The Position

We are seeking a creative and research-driven Instagram Copywriter to craft viral scripts for the personal brand of Richard Yu. The primary goal is to grow the account and drive inbound followers, ultimately supporting an 8-figure online education business. This role involves writing scripts for Reels, carousels, and stories that Richard will perform, requiring a deep understanding of what makes content go viral on the platform. Richard Yu has built an 8-figure online education company from a $500 digital product and now mentors others in building online businesses, documenting his journey on Instagram and YouTube. The brand is focused on impact, rapid scaling, and becoming a leading voice in business education.

Requirements

  • Proven experience writing scripts or copy for a personal brand or creator account that has gone viral, with demonstrable results (URLs, screenshots, view counts).
  • Experience growing an account (personal or client) to significant scale, or shipping individual posts that have achieved high virality (over 5x views/followers ratio).
  • Ability to match and adapt to different voices and cadences within a few iterations.
  • Deep understanding of Instagram content, able to analyze why hooks land quickly and how pacing affects retention.
  • Familiarity with creators in Richard Yu's adjacent space (e.g., Iman Gadzhi, Alex Hormozi, Cole Gordon, Codie Sanchez) and an understanding of their current content strategies.

Nice To Haves

  • Meaningful experience writing copy for other platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Ads, Email, VSLs, or Webinars.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Experience editing videos or working as a graphics designer.

Responsibilities

  • Write scripts for Instagram Reels, carousels, and story content, including hooks, body copy, and calls to action.
  • Study Instagram trends and viral content to reverse-engineer successful mechanics (hook structure, pacing, emotional payoff).
  • Translate viral content mechanics into scripts that align with Richard Yu's voice and brand.
  • Collaborate directly with the Head of Instagram and the content team on production.
  • Own measurable goals related to view count, follower growth, and save/share rates.
  • Research and analyze content from adjacent spaces (e.g., Iman Gadzhi, Alex Hormozi, Cole Gordon, Codie Sanchez) to identify current trends and opportunities.
