About The Position

Senior position for highly experienced inspector who can undertake complex inspection and sampling work performed in the field, complete necessary paperwork, correctly distribute samples and maintain timely communications with office staff.

  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks in accordance with the latest industry standards and practices
  • Ability to follow specific instructions provided by supervisor
  • Ability to maintain required communications with office staff
  • Ability to keep office staff fully updated of any changes to the initial plan
  • Ability to correctly prepare and distribute all field reports to vessels, terminals, and the office
  • Ability to calibrate and maintain advanced inspection equipment
  • Ability to properly identify and timely transport samples obtained in the course of their activities

Responsibilities

  • Perform all levels of inspection and sampling work in the field according to industry and customer requirements, to include: physical measurement of product, obtaining temperatures of product, sampling of product, calculations of volume.
  • Function as trainer for Inspector 1 and Inspector 2 employees to determine their potential for advancement to Inspector 3 level. Make recommendations to management regarding suitability for advancement.
  • Be completely familiar with and follow at all times, all American Petroleum Institute (API) and IFIA procedures as well as customer and company policies and requirements. Stay current with industry regulations and technological advancements.
  • Perform complex overall voyage and other analysis of findings to identify areas of concern, unexplained losses and/or gains of product, delays and other issues of importance and report same to supervisor and if so instructed, customers. Issue required documentation that protects both the company’s and customer’s interests.
  • Carry out all assigned tasks in accordance with the latest industry standards and practices and in accordance with the specific instructions provided by supervisor. Maintain required communications with office staff and keep them fully updated of any changes to the initial plan.
  • Responsible for the correct preparation and distribution of all field reports to vessels, terminals, and the office as assigned by training person as well as calibration and maintenance of advanced inspection equipment.
  • Responsible for the proper identification and timely transportation of the samples obtained in the course of their activities.
  • Other similar tasks as assigned by supervisor
