About The Position

The Inspector checks upholstered furniture for defects and ensures quality before products are shipped. The role involves inspecting and, when applicable, cleaning, repairing, labeling, and assembling furniture according to tickets and instructions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous inspection or repair experience preferred.
• Must be able to walk, stand, climb, stoop, twist, push, pull, and bend over the course of 8 hours.
• Must be able to push or pull up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous inspection or repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect furniture, placing it on a lift if necessary.
• Check tickets for proper information and instructions.
• Remove loose strings, if applicable.
• Use an air hose to blow dust or fragments off a piece when necessary.
• Clean soiled areas with the proper cleaner to remove marks.
• Check for bad stitching or seams.
• Check upholstered pieces for welt that is too small or too large.
• Check materials for flaws or scars.
• Check that cushions fit properly and that fabric matches on upholstered pieces.
• Place deck labels and the proper hang tag in each piece.
• Assemble beds to ensure proper alignment.
