About The Position

The Inspector (Uphol Dept) inspects upholstered furniture for defects and ensures quality before products are shipped. The role includes checking product information and instructions, addressing minor cleanliness issues, reviewing stitching, seams, welt, material, cushion fit, and fabric matching, and completing labeling and assembly tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous inspection or repair experience preferred.
• Must be able to walk, stand, climb, stoop, twist, push, pull, and bend over the course of 8 hours.
• Must be able to push or pull up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous inspection or repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect furniture and place it on a lift if necessary.
• Check tickets for accurate information and instructions.
• Remove loose strings when applicable.
• Use an air hose to remove dust and fragments when necessary.
• Clean soiled areas with the proper cleaner to remove marks.
• Check for bad stitching or seams.
• Check upholstered pieces for welt that is too small or too large.
• Check materials for flaws or scars.
• Check that cushions fit properly and fabrics match on upholstered pieces.
• Place deck labels and the proper hang tag in each piece.
• Assemble beds to ensure proper alignment.
