About The Position

Entry-level trainee position for an inspector who will ultimately be able to perform basic inspection and sampling work in the field, complete necessary paperwork, correctly distribute samples, and maintain timely communications with office staff. The inspector is responsible for field inspection and sampling work, completion of required paperwork, correct sample distribution, and timely communication with office staff.

Responsibilities

• Complete the safety and orientation training required to access customer facilities.
• Shadow an assigned senior inspector or training person on jobs and learn basic inspection and sampling requirements.
• Read, become familiar with, and follow American Petroleum Institute (API) and IFIA procedures, as well as customer and company policies and requirements.
• As assigned by the training person, perform basic field inspection and sampling in accordance with industry and customer requirements, including physically measuring product, obtaining product temperatures, sampling product, and calculating volume.
• Perform assigned tasks in accordance with current industry standards and practices and supervisor instructions; keep office staff informed of changes to the initial plan.
• Prepare and distribute field reports to vessels, terminals, and the office as assigned by the training person.
• Properly identify and transport samples obtained during work in a timely manner.
• Perform other similar tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
