Inspector
About The Position
The Inspector ensures that all items produced meet the applicable base sheet and/or customer specifications. The role identifies items that do not meet requirements and recommends rework or scrap. The Inspector must understand the raw materials and processing involved, and operate testing equipment or perform special testing and inspection as directed by the Lead Inspector or Quality Control Manager. The role requires handling products and tooling as part of inspection, setting up and performing inspection tests, recording results, and using measuring and testing equipment. The Inspector must also read blueprints, drive company vehicles, comply with HBD Industries, Inc. operating procedures, and meet efficiency standards. Candidates must pass a comprehensive test covering basic mathematics and verbal skills, inspection terminology, print reading, and inspection-related calculations. The test requires a score of at least 70% and has a one-hour time allotment.
Requirements
- Must be physically able to handle items produced, tooling, and jigs as required for inspection.
- Ability to set up, perform, and record inspection tests, using both mental and physical capabilities.
- Ability to read and use measuring and testing equipment.
- Must have spent time as a production worker and/or fulfill other management requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints and drive company vehicles.
- Must pass a comprehensive test covering basic mathematical calculations, verbal skills, inspection terminology, print reading, and inspection-related calculations; passing score is 70%, with a one-hour time allotment.
- Must follow company operating procedures and meet efficiency standards.
