About The Position

The employee will become part of the Purdy paintbrush manufacturing team in the line-finishing department. Purdy manufactures professional painting tools of the highest quality. This position will be required to inspect brushes for quality. Safety is a core value at Sherwin-Williams operations. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have the legal right to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status

Nice To Haves

  • Have at least one (1) year of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods
  • Have experience with fine manipulation (such as sewing, cutting hair or related activities)

Responsibilities

  • Use scanner to scan on and off orders. Input accurate data into scanner.
  • Constantly monitor quality of handles, brush heads, and finished brushes
  • Verify with automatic wrapper operator that the keepers match the order
  • Return brushes that need re-trimmed to the original side trimmer
  • Remove defective brushes from the order
  • Send good brushes to packaging
  • Maintain Accurate Metrics: Brushes inspected
  • Calculate the number of brushes inspected
  • Take seconds to brushmaking team lead with ticket
  • Keep work area clean and conduct a final cleaning near the end of each shift

Benefits

  • Shift Differential: $0.45/Per Hour
  • This position is also eligible for a bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.
