About The Position

VSC Fire & Security is seeking an Inspection Trainee in Springfield, Virginia. The company provides fire protection, life-safety, and security solutions, including system design, installation, service, repair, and inspections. In this role, the trainee assists with service, inspection, and testing of fire and life-safety systems under the guidance of a licensed supervisor, while following VSC safety and risk-management procedures at job sites.

Requirements

• One year of experience in inspections of fire sprinklers and integrated systems.
• Obtain necessary certifications within six months of employment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.
• Eagerness for professional development and growth.
• Ability to pass various background checks.
• Reliable transportation and a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record for use of a company vehicle.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the construction or electrical industry.
• General working knowledge of industrial and/or commercial installation methods.
• Ability to read and comprehend drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with service, inspection, and testing of fire sprinkler, clean agent, backflow assembly, and integrated systems under the guidance of a licensed supervisor.
• Assist with work involving systems such as fire alarms, fire suppression, access control, video surveillance, intercom, and sound/security systems, as well as other life-safety systems.
• Maintain proper risk-management and safety procedures on job sites in accordance with VSC policies.
