About The Position

You will be the Inspector Sr for the Quality Assurance team. Our team is responsible for ensuring product quality across all Lufkin programs. As the Inspector Sr you will be responsible for performing inspections of incoming parts, in‑process items, and finished products, evaluating quality, making disposition decisions, and documenting defects. Requirements

  • Ability to follow established inspection methods and specifications.
  • Proficient with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, Go/No‑Go gauges) and ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Operates in SAP / Apriso and basic PC software proficiently.
  • Communicates succinctly and in detail to produce accurate inspection documentation, non‑conformance records, and corrective‑action recommendations.
  • Manages time effectively to prioritize multiple inspections and documentation needs in support of production schedules.
  • Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with hardware built to J‑STD‑001 specifications.
  • Understanding of standard industry material‑handling practices.

Responsibilities

  • Performing inspections of incoming parts, in‑process items, and finished products, evaluating quality, making disposition decisions, and documenting defects.
  • Inspection of incoming purchased components, in‑process assemblies, and completed assemblies.
  • Utilization of calibrated measuring equipment (dial indicators, micrometers, scales, etc.) to verify product compliance in accordance with required specifications.
  • Creation of Q‑notes for every defect.
  • Assists with stock purges, floor audits, and other quality‑system activities.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor and verify product quality.
